In my studies and work in education and storytelling, I've been thankful for opportunities to work in both rural and urban settings across a wide spectrum of participant groups to inform and inspire. These have been in contexts local to Southern California, as well as national and international.

Background
Studying ecology, facilitation and leadership development through my Bachelor of Sciences in Outdoor Recreation Administration at San Diego State University after relocating from the San Francisco Bay Area, I am a lifelong lover of nature and people. I have followed my undergraduate degree with many certificate programs, courses, and applied learning, professional and personal projects.
With interest in agroecology and permaculture, social change work, and the benefits of traditional and nature-based arts and recreation, I draw from an integrative worldview that seeks to inspire others to recognize meaningful synergy between their passions, initiatives, and impact they desire to make in the world.
Please visit my LinkedIn profile to learn more about my experience and qualifications. I offer my services on a sliding scale via hourly, daily and project-based rates.
I am enjoying reconnecting with my family heritage as it relates to my passions and work, including my grandparents-generation cousin Dr. Florence Hawley Ellis, whose name I carry via my middle name "Hawley". Florence was an innovator in archaeology and anthropology as she began her career in the 1920s and 30s, and became a close friend and ally of the Puebloan Southwest cultures via her work at Chaco Canyon, and then advocacy at a national level. Specializing in pottery and dendrochronology Florence was active for decades with the University of New Mexico and University of Arizona, and her legacy lives on at New Mexico's Florence Hawley Ellis Museum of Anthropology.
My Curriculum vitae is available upon request.

- Board of Directors: Slow Food URBAN San Diego, Ark of Taste Chair (2018-19)
- Slow Food is a global, grassroots organization, founded in 1989 to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions, counteract the rise of fast life and combat people's dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from and how our food choices affect the world around us. The Ark of Taste is a living catalog of delicious and distinctive foods facing extinction, and is a tool for farmers, ranchers, fishers, chefs, grocers, educators and consumers to seek out and celebrate our country’s diverse biological, cultural and culinary heritage.
